Israeli couture from Ashdod. Sculpted silhouettes, handcrafted Solstiss lace, and open backs that define modern bridal luxury.

The story

Berta. Israeli Couture with a Daring Edge.

Berta Balilti founded her namesake fashion house in 2004 in Ashdod, Israel, after years of quietly designing bridal gowns by hand alongside a career in ready-to-wear. A graduate of the Shenkar College of Engineering and Design near Tel Aviv, she built her craft with the precision of a trained seamstress. What began as a single bridal salon grew, by 2013, into one of the most closely watched names in international bridal fashion, with collections presented at New York Bridal Fashion Week and distributed to more than 150 boutiques across 20 countries.

The BERTA aesthetic is immediately recognizable: form-sculpting silhouettes with signature open backs, deeply plunging necklines, and lavish hand-embroidered lace that traces the body with exceptional precision. Balilti sources Solstiss lace from the historic lace workshops of Caudry in northern France, one of only a handful of manufacturers still producing on traditional Leavers looms. Every BERTA gown is made to order and produced under the designer's direct supervision in her Israeli studio, resulting in a couture standard of finish that bridges the gap between mass luxury and true atelier work.

Berta at Bloomfeld

Bloomfeld carries the BERTA bridal collection at our Antwerp boutique. Brides discover the brand's signature combination of sensuality and refinement in person, guided by our experienced stylists.

BERTA gowns are made to order, which means each piece is produced specifically for your measurements rather than altered from a standard size. We recommend starting the process at least six to nine months before your wedding date.

Frequently asked questions about Berta

Every BERTA gown is designed and made to order in Israel, under the direct supervision of founder Berta Balilti. The Solstiss lace used in many designs is sourced from historic lace workshops in Caudry, northern France.

BERTA gowns are firmly positioned in the luxury bridal segment. In European markets, the BERTA Couture line typically ranges from approximately EUR 8,500 to EUR 16,000, depending on the style and embellishment. The Muse by BERTA line offers a slightly more accessible entry point. Book an appointment at Bloomfeld for exact pricing.

Because every BERTA gown is made to order in Israel, we recommend starting at least six to nine months before your wedding date. This allows time for production, shipping, and fittings at our Antwerp atelier.

BERTA gowns are made to order under the founder's personal supervision, using French Solstiss lace and handcrafted embellishment. The silhouettes are bold and body-conscious: open backs, plunging necklines, and intricate lace that follows the figure. It is couture quality without the Paris price point.
